well what else do you call them when they are talking about signing America's Favorite Drama Queen - Brett Favre?? Now I'm not saying he's a 'queen' ... first, I don't like that term - second, I'm referring to his way of faking a toss to the Viking media hounds.
So now he has landed and is on the way to the Viking training camp -- to supposably sign a contract for one year @ $10million? Gee, wonder why their prices are so high?
Reporters are speculating that he waited this long because he hates training camp -- some one call the 'wam-bulance' .... oh, gee Mr. PrimaDonna doesn't want to do what every other player has to do ... oh boo hoo.
I do feel for his arm ... and I do feel for the fact that his is 40 (or going to be) and that is really old for the sport - practically unheard of these days ... but he just seems to do everything he can to keep his name on the sports page.
Does anyone else have a feeling that some where in his home is a whole room dedicated to "Brett"? Full of framed articles featuring him ... photos all over the place, of himself ... and a dvd player always on standby for showing his best moves.
He could be a very nice guy off the field ... I don't know. He could be the sweetest guy in the world .... all I know is the image that he gives to a Vikings fan who has always boo'ed and mocked him -- he comes across as just willing to do anything to keep himself in the lime-light.
He's like a child -- any attention, good or bad, is still attention.
I guess I am worried that we are going to have another Warren Moon, Tom Kramer, Randall Cunningham, Randy Culpepper situation -- you know the ones who as soon as they got into the big bucks of their contract began to complain about 'injuries' .... oh I jammed my finger ... oh my knees hurt ...
I'm just sick of that, because then they leave the team - go to another team and don't have any issues at all after the move. Yeah right, after a few of those you start suspecting everyone who claims injury.
I just can't see any good coming from this partnership.
And I have to feel for TJ (Tarvaris Jackson) ... rumor has it that if Favre gets signed, he will end up out of a job. What a kick in the gut, huh?
