" Jobless workers in imminent danger of losing their unemployment benefits would get a 13-week reprieve under legislation approved by the House on Tuesday.
The House bill, which applies to 27 states plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico with unemployment rates of 8.5 percent or higher, would add to the already-record levels of benefits that have been available to the jobless as the country struggles to recover from its prolonged economic malaise. But if the stimulus bill helped the economy and its on the mend -- why do we have to extend unemployment yet again?

Its like they, in Washington, are looking at the numbers in a dim light -- look, the economy was 'bad' before ... but everything the Dems have done since they have gained control of all three entities in DC have pushed up farther down the hole.

Now they can say that it was all Bush's fault ... but if that were the case, then why isn't anything that Obama has pushed thru (or rather should we say Pelosi) helped yet? I know there isn't an 'instant' cure - but it has been nearly a year since the election, almost 10 months since they took power ....

Are you trying to tell me that in 10 months they couldn't pull this thing out yet?

I seem to recall Reagan having some success with a problem like this ....
