Serena not so serene

So Serena Williams is in big trouble - huge trouble ... $10,000 in fines and a possible suspension which would be a big punishment to her sister as well since they are supposed to be playing doubles here soon.

now they are talking possible criminal charges -- assault

so what was it all about? I mean McEnroe used to pitch a fit all the time, right? He once told a judge to go have carnal relations with his mother (the judges, not Mc's)... they say that a few years back one player actually slapped one of the judges across the face.

first she was warned for slamming her tennis racket on the ground -- then later on in the match she was called for putting her foot on the line during a serve and when she was called on it she totally flipped out.

translation of what she said, since it is so faint that you quite hear it, she threatened to shove a tennis ball down the throat of the line judge ... and on the View, Sharee pointed out that Serena made it even more poignent when she asked the judge 'do you hear me?'
"I swear to God I'll f-ing take the ball and shove it down your f-ing throat." (only part of tirade translated, it went on for a while longer afterwards)

and then to get pissed off because the line judge reported it to the main judge.

The line judge took the phrase "gonna shove a tennis ball down your throat" as a threat, a threat on her life ... and if you think about it - it is .... you can't shove a tennis ball down a human throat without killing the person -- sorry, its a fact.

did Serena realize what she had done? yeah I think so right after the judges talked and it cost her game point.

So does Serena feel bad about what she did? sure didn't sound like it from the snippet of her press conference I heard:
"I have never been in a fight my whole life so, um --- I don't know why she would have felt threatened."

1. oh you know she and Venus have gotten into some battles - I don't know one set of siblings where there hasn't been at least one fight going on.
2. the point is, it doesn't matter what you think - it is what the poor little line judge felt. (and in case you were wondering, I would guess that Serena was at least a full head taller than this judge and the gal is built like a brick-shit-house .... she could go out for body building with her frame.

ESPN is saying she could get fines adding up to almost $1/4million ...

according to one 'expert' on Fox News she felt this was extreme because no one in the past there was no disciplined in the past. Well then by that theory -- we shouldn't go after baseball players who are using steriods because it was allowed in the past .... we shouldn't go after people who smoke at restraunts because it was allowed in the past ... we shouldn't ever expect people to act better than Neanderthals because it was allowed in the past.

No -- Serena threatened this woman ... just because the line judge didn't cry, or cringe, or pee her panties does not mean she wasn't scared.

Players are getting out of hand -- and I think people are giving them too big of a pass because of things happening in the 'heat of the moment' ... as if that makes it okay.
