First lets start with what Kucinich said about rights/health care from his speech yesterday:
"...there are those who believe that health care is a priviledge based on an ability to pay. This is the model President Obama is dealing with.
Attempting to open up health care to another 30 million people, with in the context of a 'for profit' system. There are others who believe that health care is a basic right, and ought to be provided thru a 'not for profit' plan. This is what I have tirelessly advocated. "
Well here is what Napolitano says about Health Care being a "civil right":
Ok - so what does this mean?" ... our rights come from our humanity - think about it.
You have the right to think, the right to speak, the right to travel, the right to privacy, the right to worship. Where do they come from? Do they come from the Government? They come from our humanity. We believe they are gifts from God [or Gods, depending on your religion] - a Good is
something like food, shelter, clothing, or health care. Do they come from our humanity? No you have to pay for them. You can't translate a Good into a Right. Government can't do that"
It means that the Democrats are blurring the lines ... majorly blurring them ... to the point to where they will have no issues beginning to call what we deem as a 'right' a 'good' and can then be taken away at the governments whim.
