In NYC, the DOE is telling parents that if they have 'bake sales' they can only sell pre-packaged foods -- apparently NYC doesn't know the meaning of the word 'baked' -- BUT the irony is....
according to Elizabeth Puccini, a parent who helped organized a city wide "Bake In", not only can you only sell junk food BUT the stuff they want you to sell are only available at Costco or the Dept. of Education's Vendor ....
ah-ha!!!
yes, they have to not only be specific brands, but specific PACKAGING!
so who is making the profit here??
