How sad it is that you can not afford to feed the average family for under $400 a week ...
It is beginning to remind me of Russia during the 70's but we are not having the fights in the store for the last loaf of bread. While milk is down to less than $2 a gallon, everything else is up ... 20 items at the store cost over $400 - of course that included laundry detergent, softener, and bleach - but still it is a sad commentary when feeding a family takes an entire weeks pay!
Perhaps congress & the President need to step away from their lobster dinners and $1000 a plate fund raises long enough to see what is really happening in this nation ...
See how people can not pay for upper level school, not because of a lack of effort, but because it is becoming a this-or-that situation for most of America - food or electricity ... Gas to get to work or a new pair of shoes for the kids... And if you think that walmart or discount food stores will help you better think again.
While prices go up, much of the nation is trapped in a wage freeze ... If you are lucky enough to still have a job.
Mr. President --- where is that economic recovery you promised? Where are the higher wages you felt we would have? Where is the releif for the middle-class you said you said would be there?
Perhaps you simply redefined what "middle class" is again ... Perhaps If you have a job you are upper class these days ....
You are certInly one of the lucky ones.
