What a piece of work!

Here is part of the transcript from the exchange between the Italian Coast Guard and the captain of the cruise ship that sank killing at least 6 with about 100 more missing:
Coast Guard (CG): so both you go up then ... You and your second go on board now. Is that clear?

Captain Schettino (CS): commander, I want to go on board, but it is simply that the other boat here ... There are other rescuers, it has stopped and is waiting, there, no I called other rescuers ...

CG: it's been an hour you are telling me the same thing. Now go on board. Go on board!
I saw better transcripts than this, I will search for more ...

First this guy is seen drinking in the shipboard bar when he's supposed to be on duty - then he did an illegal "salute" to the island using a coarse that local fishermen & charter boat companies say are known to have unmarked rock outcrops - but to top all this off, the "brave" captain LEFT HIS POST while his ship sank!

Everyone know that maritime law says that as long as here are hands onboard, the captain goes down wig the ship ... Surely this can't be just a glamour thing? A popular Hollywood/literature generated myth? It has to have some footing in the truth!
