"It was critical that Congress pass this bill to help get our economy moving again ... High health care costs are burdening our employers ... "
James Hoffa
Teamster President
March 2010

But appearently things have changed now ...

we can no longer stand silent in the face of elements of the Affordable Health Care Act that will that ill destroy the very health and wellbeing of our members along with millions of other hardworking Americans"
Letter to Sen. Reid (D-NV) & Rep Pelosi (D-CA)
From James Hoffa (Tennessee), James Hansen (UFCW) & Donald Taylor (UNITE-HERE)

Their main concern?
Employees being penalized for not having health care ... not the bill itself, not the number of doctors leaving the business, not the lack of care facilities ...
They also are worried that the existing health care plans will go away ... you know those sweetheart deals which no one else can afford to get - unless you're unioned.
It's kind of like that speech Kerry made when he was campaigning for president ... He was for it before he was against it!
