I was listening to the Garage Logic podcast today (you can find it on iTunes or do a search for Garage Logic online for the webpage) and it was pointed out that even though the mayor has THREATENED to raise PROPERTY TAXES over 17% ... which he says is to pay off the companies he made the contracts with ... Joe Sourcheray reminded us that the COURT has already NULLIFIED the contracts - and without a contract there is NOTHING that will need to be paid
I suggest they start looking into connections between the company and/or its employees to either the mayor/members of his family/city workers who brought in this company in the same regard ...
Follow the money, baby!!!
I grew up in Mpls where we had city collection - no choice and you pay whatever the city says it costs ... I moved to St. Paul, was totally shocked that we had to get our own collector BUT I was able to compare prices and when they would pick up ... the bill came to us and we paid it.
I can see both sides of the issue - as a resident you want to know who's in your alley, but as a resident you like having the alley being used because it lowers garage break-ins
Let's remember that the St. Paul mayor has also called for CUTTING the numbers of police because of budget problems ... he's not even gonna talk about cutting down on the number of "czars" (not sure what he's calling them) which HE created shortly after taking office
