THIS EXPLAINS SO MUCH!

 OMG!!!

The Secretary of EDUCATION ... you'd think he'd be the smartest person in the nation ... well ... at least smarter than a 5th Grader ... has given a speech in which he MISQUOTED a former President of the United States - a total shock for a couple of reasons.

The MISquote?

"We're  from the government, we're here to help"

Spoken this past week in WY by Education Secretary Cardona (I think that's how his name is spelled - I'm not sure, I'm a product of the pblic school system) - appointed by President Joe Biden, approved by Congress, who at the time was in control by the democratic party.

The President he was tryng to quote to fit his need?

#40 Ronald Reagan

Yup - former governor of CA ... He ran for presidency at least 3 times (tha I'm aware of) ... he was married twice ... was a great horseman too.  But his terms were met by critism, a failed impeachment, a Senate Hearing that rivalled that of Wattergate -- I remember rushing home from college to listen to the hearings on MPR (yup, I really do listen to the local station).

So why is it amazing that President Reagan was quoed (well, MISquoted, really)

He was REPUBLICAN

Yes - Reagan began as a member of the democratic party.  Yes he appeared before the "Joe McCarthy Hearings" looking for Communists during the 50's.  My understanding - because what kid pays attention to politics? - is that during the "Woe vs Wade" debate in the 60's - amongst other things, I'm sure - went just too far for him. He was a staunch Pro-Lifer ... although, actually, he was a Anti-Abortionist because he was Pro-Death Penalty ...

But I digress ... back to my point:

The meaning of a QUOTE is to repeat something another has said, usually to emphasize a point which you wish to have stand out.

A PARAPHRASE is a purposeful MISQUOTE, usually to keep the original contest/meaning even though words might be mixed up, replced, or dropped.

a MISQUOTE is when things are completely wrong - everything has changed and the original meaning is completely wrong.  It can also be when a person is given credit for a line/quote they actually never said (think of movies, often people say one character said something when it was acually a different one completely)

Okay .... okay ... lets look at this:

Contest lends so much, doesn't it?

You see - Reagan was for many things, but the largest of which was LESS governmentt in peoples lives ... he was for SMALLER government - even though it did, in fact, grow under his terms ... he gave AMNESTY to millions of ILlegals in the country in hopes that it would quell the issues the nation was having at the time ... he made Air TrafficControllers federal employees to end their strike (its actually ILLEGAL for federal employees to go on strike, not only can they be fined, or fired, they can also be JAILED if the do so) ... 

He was a very good President, acttually ... his wife ... well, Nancy Reagan was a whole different story.  Let's save her for another day.

Any how ... back to my point ....

While it actually doesn't surprise me that President Biden would have someone like this in his cabinet - after all, Biden himself got into trouble several times over his life for PLAGERIZING entire texts and getting caught ... once while in LAW SCHOOL, and his daddy got him out of trouble (what, did you have the impression he was from a Blue Collar family? NO), and then there are the many, many, MANY speeches he's given as an elected Politican ... whole speeches where just parts have been changed to make them fit his life/style.

Its kind of like when your a kid and on the way to church your parens are listening to the radio but the only thing on is some tele-evangalist (maybe it was just us) and then you get to church and find the priest/minister/pastor/etc. is giving nearly the exact same sermon/homily as you heard on the radio!!!!

When educators, or those who represent them, or their causes ... this one was about funding - MORE FUNDING - for education ... it doesn't just tarnish the speaker - it gives the enire cause a PATINA that simply can never be taen away.

PATINA:- Tarnish. Mold, usually on copper, which will eventually eat into the metal leaving deep marks which will not disappear even after the mold is removed. Bluish-Green coloring.
