Okay, so we all know the governmental "lies"
"We have to pass it to know what's in it"
"No New Taxes"
"You will be able to keep your provider, if you like your praovider"
"It won't cost you a penny more in taxes"
Riiiigggghhhhttttt
Well this is the latest - which we just abou missed - remember when President Biden spent $7.5 BILLION in order to produce Super Power stations for EVs (Electric Vehicles)?
NOT ONE has been built yet ... while they have built a very small "highway" in CA which is supposed to recharge EVs while they ride on it (I can see a few problems, which I will talk about at the end) ... there has not been a single station buit in the TWO YEARS since giving away the money.
However - by the year 2030/31, the government's aim was for 2/3 of the vehicles on the road would be electric ... In fact, they just tried to pass a bill that would have mandated it as such, but alas - some democrats actually voted AGAINST it.
Why?
Because there is no "used EV" lots, I would suspect ... which would make it extremely tough for lower to middle-income households from owning them.
Currently, the average cost of an EV is about $50,000 for a basic/low-end model ... then there is the maintainance costs.
I just want to know what they plan on doing with all the OLD batteries -- after all, we all know batteries - even rechargable ones - don't last forever! But they still contain chemicals which we wouldn't want to throw into a landfill of any sort.
So what do we do with them??
There are supposed to be "tax incentives" to buy them ... still not enough to knock the price down for the average American ... but what I haven't heard is if people would be TAXED for using these incentives.
Yup - you got it! MN had a "budget surplus", a portion of which was given back as a Rebate. They couldn't tell exactly which of the taxes it came from - they are like a kid at Halloween - so they decided that if you earned less than $50,000/yr single or $100,000/yr couple, you would qualify for the rebate ... the less you earned, the MORE you got (I know, Gov. Walz was buying votes)
Well - it turns out, that while MN will not be re-taxing that money (they say), the IRS will be! Yup, Gov. Walz is now ticked off ... the estimated amont owed will range from $12 - $250!!!
Oops getting off point, again.
But you can see how it is likely that the IRS might possibly come after people who use those incentives to get an EV car ... I'm just saying ...
Money doesn't grow on trees ... they've gotta get it from somewhere - and Congress isn't going to do anything that will effect themselves.
------
Now back to the Charging Highway:
First of all, its a "test highway" which is less than a mile long
Only ONE vehicle is currently allowed on it - it is set up wih an electronic voice which speaks to you ... but you can not interact with it, it has a set dialogue/speech it gives.
This type of system only works with batteries which can charge without being plugged in ... dso if you have one of those older models, your screwed - thee isn't likely to be charging plug-in stations along this type of road.
Lastly - I don't know about you, but I have found that when I plug in my phone while in a car, and listen to it while driving - the battery life seems to die super quick afterwards - its as if the batery life is given up for the convienience of litening while charging from one battery to another -- so what will prevent this sort of thing from happening with these very expensive car rechargable batteries???
That's all I'm saying!
