Okay, I'm getting really upset now ... I'm currently watching Good Morning America (ABC) from this morning ... they must have read my last post because they came up with A clip in which, while talking about the Civil War, Trump says something about negotiation ... of course, the clip is so short, and so sloppily chopped that you can't really tell what he is saying could be negoiated.
"... so many mistakes were made - see, there was something I think could have been negotiated to be honest with ya' ... "
The reporter also made a declarative statement that the Civil War was about slavery ...that it was fought over slavery ...
No -- it was fought over State's Rights - slavery was the last thing done to push the nation into Civil War ....
You can tell this by simply reading the Immancipation Proclaimation. Which I hightly doubt the schools do anymore, because it would reveal that only slaves owned in the Confederate States were freed!
Slaves owned in the Union States were not ... and yes, there were in fact some slaves still owned on the Union side of the war. They were not set free until after Ulysses S. Grant became President ... in 1869, 4 years AFTER the Civil War!!!
So .... NO ... the Civil War was NOT fought about slavery, that was just the straw that broke the friggin' camel's back!
