This is a follow up to the story of the woman in California who stabbed her "boyfriend" 108 times ... more informatin has come out.
It now sounds as if this was just a budding relationship ... in fact, it sounds like it was onky the first or second date ... but I could be wrong -- after a certain point, depending on where you're from, it stops being called "dating" or "went on a date" when describing the relationship ... they hadnt reached that point.
Court records show that she began stabbing this guy after the second hit off a bong ... if you don't know what a bong is, its typically a vessel which pulls the smoke through water, making the water act as a filter for impurities ... at least that's what I was always told it did - I personally have never used marijuana, but I am related to those who have.
The gal claimed she "blacked out" and wound up stabbing him over 100 times -- wow -- that' a lot of stab wounds ...
The describtion of the gale when police arrived is interesting, to say the least.
The District Attorney described her as:
"Literally, kneeling over him, holding a 10-inch bread knife, covered in blood (made hand motion from head to chest) like the movie "Carrie" and his whole body is right there on the floof"
Drama much?? I don't doubt that she was covered in blood, but - wow
When the cops arrived they had to both tazer her, as well as whack her with batons - breaking her arm in 5 places - before she finally dropped the knife.
Okay ... I've never had a broken bone, but I've been close - dislocated an elbow, dr said he was surprised the arm hadn't snapped instead - when it first happened it hurt like the dickens, but as my body started to go into shock it didn't hurt much at all - until they reset it, then it hurt like Hell again.
But you would think that 5 breaks would have over-ridden whatever problem she was having, wouldn't you?
Even an autistic child knows when they've been hurt and will react to it.
The claim was "involuntary manslaughter" because when she took the second hit, they say, that was done involuntarily ... well unless the guy was holding her down and forcing the bong to her face, she had to be complicate with it.
I would have thought it would have been considered "involuntary" because of the effects afterwards, but that isn't the way I'm hearing what the attorney is saying.
The prosecution asked for 5 years .... assumably behind bars, but this is California
The judge decided on probation - so she's back on the streets - and - get this - COMMUNITY SERVICE!
Yes ... the person filling in pot holes near your house, or picking up trash, might actually have killed someone.
Community Service is supposed to be used for those who are caught will the bare minimum of drugs needed for a conviction (with no intent to sell), or for people who are caught speeding less than 10 mph above the speed limit, for those who were caught, basically, doing crimes which would not harm anyone else but still fall within the misdermeanor catagory of the law.
NOT for those who actually killed someone!!!
She was sentenced to 100 hours of community service, btw ... and like his friend said (although it simply said "friend" but I'm assuming its his friend because of the statement) ... it comes to less than an hour per stab wound!
Wow ... whatever happened to sentencing people to getting a pyche evaluation before passing sentence? Especially in a case like this?
Get ready for he flood gates of "it wsn't me, it was the pot" to start showing up all over the country now ... you know its gonna happen.
