I enjoy watching 20/20 (ABC) ... and tonight's episode was about this gal who has been released from prison, on parole, for planning the murder of her mother ... yeah - I'm going to try not to say her name, I don't want to give her any extra "fame"
Anyhow - her mother suffered from Munhausen By Proxy -- its a mental disease where a parent/caregiver causes health problems (usually) in the person they are caring for (yes it can happen with adults in care as well), but it is a genuine mental disease ...
The person who is being harmed by the MBP person is considered to be a victim of abuse - and they should be, because they have no choice in the matter and it can be nasty stuff happening to them.
So - this gal who was an adult at the time of the murder ... age ranging from 19-23 depending which birthdate you use - but that's a different story ... she was using the computer/social media to contact men ... and appearantly she met up with at least one of them - we only know of the one at least.
This guy was 23 yrs old as well ... and he had been diagnosis with Aspburger's Syndrome ... this is a form of autism in which is distinguished by a higher intellectual ability but a subnormal range of social behavior -- think "Sheldon Cooper" here, or "Raj Kothrapali", both are very bright but neither has very good social skills - although Sheldon does show signs of also having OCD which is also known to exist in Aspburger's Syndrom ...
Either way - the had a diagnosed mental impairment ...
He however, wielded the knife which killed this gals mother - she stayed in her room listening to it all.
She claims now that she was hooked on pain killers, which could be, and that was why she couldn't get out of her bed to go and help her mother .... who she also admits to being the Planner of the crime - she thought everything out, she talked him into going from Wisconsin (his home state) to Louisiana (where they lived) - so from North to South - she had it all planned out.
She bought the bus tickets so they could get away -- wait, where did she get money from?? She didn't have a job! Actually, it looked like she had spent a lot of money with no percievable income. Even donations she and her mother had gotten would have been spent on all the doctor/hospital/surgery bills plus all the medical supplies ...
Well - she wound up posting on she & her mother's FB page aboutt the murder in not so mice ways ... even pretending to BE her "boyfriend" claiming he had "faped" her.
So - the police tracked the IP address to his place and find her -- and the cops begin to question them both. This is where it starts to get interesting.
He admits to killing her mom right away - from what I saw on the show - but told how she had called him down south, yada yada yada. Either way, he's cooked his goose
She ... the little liar ... pretends that she's totally surprised to hear her mother is dead ... that she had no idea that that was what he did ... she had no part in it!
The cops have videos all over the place showing these guys every freaking move! To the hotel, getting supper, buying bus tickets, getting on the bus, arriving in Wisconsin ... etc. etc. They are not going to lie their way out of it .... not at all.
He - remember, he has a diagnosed mental issue - gets life in prison, NO possibility for parole. Age 23, he's freedom is completely gone.
She - no mental diagnosis, but she was a victim of abuse - gets convicted for 10 years, WITH a possibility of parole ... which she recieved this last December ....
She was asked how she felt that he got Life and she's already free ... her answer was basically "sucks to be him" ... wow .... remember, he thought they were boyffriend/girlfriend .... I hope he sees this show and realizes how she used him and his Aspburger's to her advantage.
Heartless enough, eh? She's not done yet ...
Her mom, by the sounds of it, hadn't told her about all the child support she was getting from her father, nor that he even wanted to see her, nor that he actually had to carry health insurance on her - by law and by his choice - even though there were claims that he had fled into the wind, giving them nothing at all.
Well, this gal "hooked" back up with his father and his wife/her stepmom ... even calls stepmom "mom" - it just send shivers down my spine - and I'm gonna guess that they covered most of her legal costs as well as in prison.
She started recieving letters, of a romantic nature, while in prison ... and she chose one guy who works with handicapped kids. He seemsed nice on the program.
They got married while she was still serving time ... and right afterwards family members (I'm going to assume her dad & stepmom) started petitioning for her early release ...
AND THEY GAVE IT TO HER!!!!
OMG - I'm listening to this and I'm thinking "she's her mother's daughter" ... and then some!
She is extremely manipulative -- she's got an online presence like you wouldn't believe ... and people are treating her like she is a celebrity - it just awed me at how much attention she's getting ...
FOR KILLING HER MOTHER!!!!!!
In Michigan right now, they are convicting a couple for not taking their son home from school and that very day he shot up the school.
Theory being, if they had taken him the shooting wouldn't have happened .... also that they had purchased a gun for the kid to go hunting with, and they were unaware that he had that gun with him. Although I am probably wrong on these facts ...
My point is -- if these parents can be held liable for the son's actions ... and they are facing some really steep penalties too ... if they can be convicted for this --
They why couldn't this gal be convicted of murder in the first degree as well?
I'm telling all those in her life -- keep an eye on her -- she's got plans .... I just have a feeling.
