So I am now watching Outnumbered (FNC) and they are releasing what the senate says is in the "Border Bill" (its actually part of a bigger spending bill, and this is actually not exactly the way things are written, but then its coming from the democrat ran Senate):
~$20Billion Border Security
~Ends "Catch & Release"
~Expands detention capacity for families
~Raises Asylum standards
~Fast t ~racks Asylum claims
~50,000 new Visas over 5 years
~Work Permits for Qualified
~$650Million to expand Border Wall
~Mandatory "shutdown" at 5,000 average encounters for 7 days
OR 8,500 for a single day
That mandatory shut down number is actually an issue
At he 5,000 limit, that would still allow over 1.8 Million in per year
At the 8,500 limit it will allow over 3.1 Million people in a year
Because it looks like there is a choice in the matter, one would think that the higher of the two would be used by those in charge.
Also, the Border Wall -- remember, when President Biden was running in 2020 he said not one dollar would be used to build a wall under his administration ... but it looks like it will be!
And as far as "Catch & Release" goes .... I'm going to guess they will simply change the name ... Just like "Global Warming" became "Climate Change" .... "Catch & Release" will simply be called something else.
I do not expect this to be passed in the House though ... there are too many unanswered questions ... to much "what if" scenerios ... too much leeway. Also, President Biden is too close to the bill.
If President Biden would just keep his mouth SHUT during the negotiations, chances would be better for it to pass ... but the more ANY President speaks up during the voting of a bill, the less likely the other party will be to actually vote for it.
I don't think we have big enough families anymore -- these simple life lessons aren't being taught/learned any more.
