The View: Matthew Broderick

Okay - I forgot that Michelle Obama was going to be on this week (I've been way too busy)...but what struck me was the guest.

Matthew Broderick ... star of such films as 'Ferris Bueller...', the one with the computer that thinks its at war, the one with the flying monkey wishing to be free, (such great movies that I can't recall their names - I could look them up on imdb.com , but this is a better way to prove the point) .... 'Godzilla' (remake), 'Brighton Beach Memiors' (a personal fav of mine actually) and 'The Producers' .... same guy who killed someone overseas during a DUI (still don't know how he got off with that one) ....

Anyways -- WHAT WAS WITH HIM???

I don't think he was overwhelmed by the ladies ... but he certainly was NOT on the stage there, even though his body was.

First clue was the white socks with the dark suit & dark shoes -- who the heck dressed this guy?? And he seems so expressionless ... is he on medication or something? He just seemed soooo out of it, it was like he couldn't string two thoughts together.

Although I thought it was interesting that his 6yr old liked Obama - don't worry I'm not going there - and Michelle's answer was 'well kids seem drawn to Barrack) ... it is so hard not to comment on this one.

I was also struck by Whoopi's body language ... I mean I've seen her sit with her left leg over the right before -- but she looked like she was trying her best to run away from the entire interview. What was up with that? I think she asked all of two questions and one of them was to Michelle and not Matthew. Did I miss something there? I know she spilled her cup earlier at the table (nervous over Michelle being there?) but I don't think that had anything to do with it.

It was almost like she viewed him as a plight on the couch ... I don't know, maybe she just wanted more Michelle time ... maybe she had to go potty really bad ... who knows ... I can't see her even sitting on the couch if there was anything going on with Matthew though.

I loved it when Whoop scared Sherri though by showing up in the food segment - to tell the nutrition lady not to mess with the bacon - that's right, leave the pig alone.

Now I thought the Obama's were vegetarian though -- don't know where I got that from -- but they do eat bacon ... so how can they be vegetarian? That would be like saying 'I'm celebate, except for the single bout of sex everyday' ... man I wish I could remember where I read she was a vegetarian!

Actually I have to wonder about these two .... she admits to eating bacon and he smokes ... yet they both hang out with the people who are totally against all that. ?? Not that it matters that either one smokes or eats bacon in the long run ... but if they are battling against it, its kind of hypocritical of them ... but then we all do something that people would see as hypocritical.

She seems very personable ... I think she'd make an okay first lady ... I just don't think her husband would make the best president.
Of course, by that same token - I don't think McCain would make the best pres. either.

Like I've said before - my candidates are already out of the race ... so I'm fairly neutral on all this.
