"total of 23,531 people in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Lebanon, Mexico, Nigeria, Panama, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Turkey, the UAE, Britain and the United States were interviewed face-to-face or by telephone in July and August 2008 for the poll."well they tried to hide this little tidbit in the story ... hmm wonder why?
Number 1 - that is little more than 1000 people per country, that is an extremely low number.
Number 2 - it does not say which countries had the most people polled, this could skew the poll numbers.
Number 3 - the story does say how the candidates were represented to people ... was it photos? I've seen several of those type before, one flattering photo one not so nice photo .... was it reading of statements the candidates have said? intonation means a lot .... was it just the name? that could bias things as well.
Number 4 - what questions were asked and how were they translated? We can ask a question in English, but when it gets translated into another language it very rarely becomes a 'literal' translation
Number 5 - why should we let foreign countries chose our President? After all, aren't they likely to want a government that favors their needs and wants more than what's good for our country? If anything, I think the fact that countries such as China, Russia, Germany, and France want Obama makes the perfect case for getting McCain in there!
