My Way News - Biden says ad mocking McCain is 'terrible':
Ooooh, Bitch Slap!!"WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama's running mate says a campaign ad that mocked Republican presidential candidate John McCain as an out-of-touch, out-of-date computer illiterate was 'terrible' and would not have been done had he known about it.
...
Asked about the negative tone of the campaign, and this ad in particular, during an interview broadcast Monday by the "CBS Evening News," Obama's running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, said he disapproved of it.
"I thought that was terrible, by the way," Biden said.
Asked why it was done, he said: "I didn't know we did it and if I had anything to do with it, we'd have never done it." ... "
But not to be out done, Barrack slapped back:
Political Punch:
"in an interview with Meredith Vieira, Joe Biden, your running mate was asked the exact same question, 'should the federal government bailout AIG?' And he said, 'No, the federal government should not bailout AIG.'" (As [ABC News] noted at the time.) "And I think that in that situation," Obama said, "I think Joe should have waited as well."okay, not the hardest slap he could have given ... in fact it was kind of limp .. but still it has to make you wonder about these two as running-mates.
Just what we need in the White House -- a team that can't get on the same page!
How can they work for the betterment of the country if they can't even get along during the campaign! What the hell will other countries think of our policies then? Geez, is this what happens when you have two Senators running together?

now the Obama/Biden camp have released a statement saying that Biden had commented only on what he 'heard' of the ad and that he hadn't seen it --- THEN HE SHOULD HAVE SAID THAT --- do we want someone who is going to fly off the handle with an official opinion without getting all the facts first??? I think he did see it, and I think that this was his true opinion of the ad ... I think the after thought was after a whiney call from Obama ... or Oprah who doesn't want to waste her money.
I can not believe people actually would want this Mickey Mouse show in the White House. If the McCain camp is smart they will jump all over this!!

Wait - it gets better. Biden was caught on vid totally contradicting a point that Obama tried to hammer home to those states who depend on the coal mines & their products.
So who's going to tell Joe that he's supposed to be Obama's friend now and to stop running against him?
" ... In the primary, Biden opposed Obama's push for clean coal, which is seen as a way of maintaining or expanding America's coal-burning power plants --many of which are in rust belt swing states. " Politico, Ben Smith
Yeah - they may want to get Barrack & Joe into the same room for a bit and get this shit straightened out.
But it makes for great blogging!

Errata:
I'm not pleased ... I went to drudge, which is where I got the heads up on the vid, and found the original link was gone - after some basic research (i.e. actually going to the youtube page with the vid and reading the description) I learned that the video above was 2 years old.
so this is simply nothing more than a politician flipping on what he says he believes -- not at all unusual. He may have learned new info since this video was made that changed his mind ... or he may be touting the party line on this issue now ... can't tell which.
But either way -- I felt the need to set the record straight on this point ... it was the right thing to do.
