Hard to believe its the 21st century!

This makes me want to cry ... its hard to believe that people still think this way.

'Child-witches' of Nigeria seek refuge - Telegraph:

"Before being pushed out of their homes many were beaten or slashed with knives, thrown onto fires, or had acid poured over them as a punishment or in an attempt to make them 'confess' to being possessed. In one horrific case, a young girl called Uma had a three-inch nail driven into her skull"

who could do this to a child??

The priests spread the message that child-witches bring destruction, disease and death to their families. And they say that, once possessed, children can cast spells and contaminate others. "

And people wonder why the numbers are so low for actual magical folk ... who would want to stand up and profess that they belong to a life-style that evokes such a reaction? Look what happens to the 'innocent'?

the real culprit in all this -- greed. The 'priests' (don't get them confused with anything from the Catholic church ... these are local crackpots) charge the families to 'exorcise' their kids -- its institutionalized child abuse it what it is!

These poor families, not only for having to watch their kids go thru this but income wise too, really have no choice -- the priests have become the bullies in the area, beating their kids for a year's income!!

Gee, imagine that ... a child under 2 crying during the night ... or running a fever ... I've always called this um - an EAR INFECTION!!!

And she's a mother??? Wonder how she would feel if the shoe was on the other foot and someone accused HER of being a witch (well, she's evil and more of a Warlock) or one of her children? Do you think she would have a quick successful exocism or do you think she would carry it out?

This is soooo sad -- but what can be done? As long as this woman is given the power there isn't much that can be done.

The more I hear of what is being done in Jesus' name -- the more I wonder about religion ... you have to wonder which Bible these people claim to use, none I have even owned or seen says anything about torturing children or witches ... there is however a story of where a witch was used as a good thing .... the Witch of Endora if I remember correctly (and the only reason I know this is because of the interviews/trivia about "Bewitched").

The things humans do to each other -- no wonder God flooded the earth.
