Small business numbers

saw this, thought I'd share:

If you are a small business owner you work an average of 52 hrs/wk, 57% of you work at least 6 days/wk, and more than 20% of you work every day/wk.
source: 2006 Wells Fargo Small Business Survey

My dad is a small business owner - before he got so close to retirement (now that he's 80+ yrs old) he was getting to work at 7am and leaving about 6pm ... then we set him up with a home computer so he could do the stuff he had to stay after work to get done at home with my mom.

Now he gets to work at 7am and leaves about 4pm .... BUT he also will work until 12midnight sometimes getting the work done. Lately because the cost of his products keep changing with the tides which throws off all his prices of goods - Dad believes in giving the customer the cheapest price possible.

But the thing that got me -- this is a poll/survey which is already 3 yrs old. Not to mention that they don't tell what the actual question was .... perhaps it had something to do with how long you spend at your workplace ...

I have a feeling they are very much underestimating .... all the smal business owners I know work 7 days a week at least 10-14 hours a day in total.
