The View: Throwing Gas on the Fire

I am watching "The View" ... and they are talking about the 'you lie' controversy ....

and they are fueling the debate on whether the statement was racially motivated --

Whoopi Goldberg phrase the question in such a way that her opinion on the matter was very plain ...

but the statement that really killed me was when one of the gals said that this administration has never used the race card thru their campaign ---

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN???

any time there was someone who spoke out against Obama they were accused of being a racist ...
political cartoonists became leary of drawing Obama because they were getting accused of racism ...
they give him what they thought was enough airtime, they were accused of racism ....
any time someone questioned where he was coming from they were accused ....
whenever someone brought up his questionable friendships - no matter how influential they were on his life ...

they played the race card a lot -- okay it might not have been the Obama's themselves, but definately those connected to him.

Look - I'm not saying that there isn't racism in the US ... that would be stupid, of course there is ... and not just down south, I've seen it in my neck of the woods too - hell I grew up around it, I went to school with it, and I still hear what people think are innocent remarks (from the most liberal people I know too) which are really racist.

All this is being fueled by a column by Maureen Dowd in which she claims that Sen. Wilson said "You Lie, Boy" ... I might believe that he said 'boy you lie' ... but the tapes of the incident clearly show that he said "you lie" that's it ....

It just makes me really upset when people claim racism when its not, or at least not cut & dry.

Look - people are losing total perspective. Just because you don't agree with someone doesn't mean you hate them .... and if you do dislike someone, it doesn't mean its based on race.

Look -- they go thru this all the time in European nations (you know the ones that the liberals want to become more like) and even worse than what Pres. Obama got ...

The Dems are out to paint the Repubs as racist ... but I think people need to check into the parties past ... as little as 30 yrs ago, they were blatently racist and proud of it while the Republicans called for equality.
