YOUR BIAS IS SHOWING

As I said - I am watching This Week (ABC) - yes still, you have no idea how many times I've been getting interrupted around here ... and I'm the only one home too! - and they have on as one of their panelists - you know the "experts" who they bring on to "discuss" things, even thought they are all of the same mindset for the most part ... anyhow - she is Barbara Comstock (R-VA)who had served, by the sounds of it, 2 tems in office - the first was an elected seat to Virginia's "House of Delegates" ... threw me for a loop too - its their version of "House of Representatives" but on a state level ... the second was when she elected to her seat in the U.S. House of Representatives to complete the term of the retiring congressman.

Okay - now we know her ... kind of ... she also has some very firm beliefs on President Trump, none of which are very flattering, some of which I disagree with.

First she supports Nikki Haley - no problem with that, there's a lot that Haley says I agree with (Amb. Haley) and some I do not - but then, if I ever totally agree with any politician I'd worry.

I agree Nikki should stay in ... not because she's "joyful" as Rep. Comstock said - what does being joyful have to do with anything?

Rep. Comstock says Amb. Haley has never lost a general election ... but she's only been elected to one elected position, that of South Carolina Governor - she did serve 2 terms, but how bad do you have to be to not get elected as a governor again ... trust me we've had a LOT of crappy governors get re-elected siimply because the alternatives were worse.

Now Rep. Comstock must be using past numbers, because she said Pres. Trump only had 50% of the republican base -- when the chart ABC put up clearly showed he had 62.5% of the base .... Amb. Haley had 29.2%, not bad actually that's almost 1/3 as of 27Jan2024 ... that's a really good chunk of the party.  But, remember, we've only had 2 states have had their caucus/primary - there is still 48 more to go ... even then, NV isn't exactly fair this time either, but that's a different post.

She also says Pres. Trump - who she says is basically an incumbant - is under incumbant levels .... wow ... No - Barbara, Pres. Biden is the incumbant.
`Incumbant (n) Holder of office or post
Pres. Trump was the incumbant in 2020, ma'am, but since he lost that election, he is no longer the imcumbant ... you could say he was the former President ... but not the imcumbant.
Maybe you should look up how fmr. President Grover Cleveland - the only President, so far, to serve 2 NON-consecutive terms in the office.

he thing that really caught my ear though was when she said "We know Donald Trump doesn't do well with strong women ... are - you - kidding - me????  All his wives have been strong women!  He prefers a "strong woman" to a shrinking violet.
OMG - his own daughters are strong people!
Doesn't do well with strong women ... just because you have the same opinion as him ddoesn't mean your not strong ... you, ma'am are very close to saying the only reason women vote for Trump is either because their husbands have told them too (because they couldn't possibly have an opinion of their own) or because the find him "sexy" (sorry, threw up in my mouth a little there) ...

And to round out her remarks she brought up the $82Million award from the defamation lawsuit.  WOW - One has NOTHING to do with the other, ma'am.
Pres. Trump didn't get punished for not liking strong women, he got punished so severely because the jury, nor the judge for that matter, liked him very much ... They awarded not the original $10Million she asked for ... not the amended $24Million she asked for ... but over 3X the amended amount, that's plain ridiculous and out of control.

Ma'am - your bias is showing ... I think, perhaps, you have an issue with strong men, especially those who don't fit the image you have of a "man".

Look - I think President Trump is lacking in a LOT of areas ... humility is one of them, sympathy is another ... he's self-centered, opinionated, arrogant, a general a$$ ... but ... isn't that the type of person who usually gets into the White House?
Those same words/traits can be used to describe ANY other President since Eisenhower (he didn't really want the job) or Vice-President since fmr. President Richard M. Nixon ...

There's a man who had an issue with "strong women"
