THIS DOESN'T REALLY SURPRISE ME ...

I always kniew California was off ....  so it doesn' really surprise me that George Gascon has decided that they should be retried and eventually set free ....

OMGs ....

His theory is that there are 2 new pieces of evidence ...

1)a letter which Eric is supposed to have writtten BEFORE the shooting
2)a Menudo member who says he was raped by the father (who was killed)

Okay - let's start wih (2) first ... yes, sometimes it can take years for those abused to come forward - if at all - to speak publically about it.

I am just shocked that none of the other members had been approached .... Remember, Menudo had Ricky Martin as a member at this time ...

Now let's look at (1) .... the letter.

A) there is NO envelope .... there is NO date ON the letter itself .... while this is not a huge deal .... IF it had nat been for the fact that the person the letter had been written to had testified DURING the trial!!

Yes - his cousin, who recieved the letter, was ON THE STAND ... TWICE ... and NEVER even mentioned the letter - even though he was asked HOW he had been told about the abuse ....

But, later, it was found that BOTH brothers (but especially the YOUNGER brother) was found to be trying to coheres  people to LIE on the stand for them!!!!

Yup - so without any sort of date, a VARIFIABLE date - I believe the letter should be looked at warily ....

This ALL comes back to the current ELECTION.. in CA, Gascon is up for reelection ... and he is BEHIND IN POLLING, and not by a little bit.

Now - I would think there is no way this case will actually go to court before the election .... and if it does, I would think it's going to be a bit before the verdict is announced as well ...

So the only thing it will likely do, is give Gascon a BUMP in the polls ... and possibly a "win"

Botth of them are married .... so I'm wondering .... truthfully ....

How do their wives feel about this?

After all - they married them when they were BEHIND BARS and it sounds like "conjugal visits" aren't allowed where they are at (I think it's Folsom Prison at the moment .... of Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings fame)

I'm going to guess that IF these two get out ... that we will be seeing 2 more divorces within the year ... I honestly don't think they ever MEANT to ever "be with" their husbands ...

Remember - one of them has already been married/divorced/remarried in prison once already ....

I hope IF they get out .... that they will be REQUIRED to STAY in CA.
