HAPPY NEW YEAR ... 2025 (updated towards bottom)

Around the world, even in parts where their calendars don't say it's a different year - not everyone uses our calendar - but around the world, people celebrated the New Year ...

Most went very well ...

And then .... there was places like New Orleans ....

If you hadn't heard - I didn't hear until late this morning - someone drove a vehicle AROUND barriers ... into the crowd on Burbon street, which was PACKED ....

Then he pulled out a FIREARM ... and began to shoot - I heard they aimed for police ....but civilians, of course, wound up getting hurt.

So far .... the death count is 10 .... I haven't heard of any ages, or if this number includes the shooter themself.

I have heard ... ON THE NEWS .... and I checked several networks and they all pretty much said the same thing ...

TERRORIST ....

My first thought was .... they're going to automatically say it's connected to a foreign power ... BUT I remember Oklahoma City .... everyone thought it was foreign, and it turned out be DOMESTIC instead ....

I've heard the firearm "Glock" with a "suppresser" which enable handguns to recover faster from a pull so that shots can be fired more quickly.  That's an awkward sentence ...

UPDATE:

Okay - I've changed the font so you will tell this is an added on bit ... the FBI have released the identity of the driver/shooter of the PICK-UP TRUCK which was driven into he crowd at the New Orleans New Years celebration ...

It seems as if he was an ARMY guy from TEXAS ... wait ... what????

They are saying an "ISIL" flag was found on the vehicle ... 

It also sounds as if the truck was part of a program where you can rent you vehicle out to ohers ... Like a Air BnB, but for cars/trucks .... 

No way you'd find us doing anything like that!  We have a tough enough time loaning a trailer to our own children, no danmed way we're letting anyone drive our car .... obviously you never know what they're gonna do wih it!

UPDATE

It also turns out that a second vehicle was used in LAS VEGAS to park a CAR BOMB right outside the FRONT DOORS of the Trump Casino/Hotel!!!!!

They have video of the car pulling up ...
They have video of the explosion ...
What they DON'T have video of is ...  the driver leaving - yeah

They blew themself up with the car ...

So ... whoever this was - they didn't do a very good job ... not ALL of the car went up in flames, in fact, they dowsed it pretty damned fast.

They have a new HUGE blanket which they smothered the flames with .... and then discovered how close they had been to being in real trouble.

See, the back seat of the car was FULL of gas cans (like you use to fill your tank wih when you run out of gas on the road) ... as well as FIREWORK CANISTERS - like those used at BIG fireworks displays ... along with even more explosives ...

YIKES!!!

Just a few more seconds, and we would be talking some major losses here.

The SUGAR BOWL football game, which was supposed to be played on New Years Day ... is being postponed until Jan. 2nd in New Orleans, 3 pm CT ...
