So - had I finished watching the full news reports I had I would have included this statement from J. Jones
"Virginians deserve honest leaders who admit when they are wrong and own up to their mistakes. This was a grave mistake and I will wok every day to prove to the people of Virginia that I will fight for them as Attorney General."
Wow ... so, he's clawing at it .... but he had texted a Republican - not a felow Democrat, a REPUBLICAN - about hus thoughts of killing - or at the very leastt, the DEATHS OF- Sen. Gilbert AAND his family!!
When the story first came out, Jones is saiid to have stated that he stated that the texts were sent because he felt Speaker Gilbert was raising "little facists" ...
And no Democrat has come out and said this is so wrong ... and that he should drop out ...
There is a claim - from a Republican - that Jones told her, that during the George Floyd riots, that:
"... if more cops got killed maybe they'd stop shooting people" ... now THIS STATEMENT Jones is denying having said it .... and that kind of makes sense, why the heck would he say something like this to a person NOT of his party?
I'm wondering if this was something she had overheard, or caught just a bit of - like when you're in a restaurant, and you hear what's being said at the table next to you .... your not likely to have heard the entire conversation, but chances are it's just enough ...."""
Kind of like the elevator scene on "Fraiser" (NBC) where Daphne and Martin are either coming or going with Eddie (the dog) when someone else gets on, they pretend to be continuing on with a conversation about something inappropriate - such as Martin having a hollow leg where something is hidden, or a suspicious death or some such thing .... funny, but you know the listener got it wrong ...
I guess we will have to see what happens - say tuned.
